Vita Guard
An easier way to measure blood pressure and manage your health
As part of a cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Microelectronic Circuits and Systems, I developed the project “Vita Guard”. The research topic at Fraunhofer IMS is to integrate a new intelligent measurement method for blood pressure assessment into a body scale. In Germany alone, more than 26 million people suffer from high blood pressure and for many the disease remains undetected for a long time. Regular measurements are therefore one of the most important preventive measures. “Vita Guard” makes it possible for the first time to measure blood pressure without the need for time-consuming cuffs. The measurement of blood pressure is based on the analysis of different biosignals and is realized by deriving the biosignals in the hands. For this research project, I am designing a product concept, both on the hardware and software side, to ensure patient acceptance and good user experience through a user-experience-based approach.
