Hofzeit Projekt – Nature Trail
Sanctuary for 100 farm animals
The Hofzeit Projekt is the name of a farmstead in Bad Münstereifel that focuses on promoting ethical, social and sustainable animal welfare. As part of my thesis, I fundamentally revised the previous visual appearance and, in addition to this redesign, developed the concept and design for an informative tour of the farm’s outdoor area. The nature trail is intended to excite children, young people and adults about ‘livestock’ and to sharpen their awareness for anti-speciesism, animal and climate protection. Combining enlightenment in a playful way, both in terms of content and design, with a polarizing topic generated a certain area of tension of my work – inviting to discuss instead of pointing the finger. By choosing this topic I was forced to intensively examine aspects of animal suffering what made my heart cry, but nevertheless allowed me to outgrow myself as a designer and as a person.
