Bachelor Media Design

I am a portrait and documentary photographer specialized in socio-political issues. During my studies, I explored how these issues can transform into new forms through multimedia storytelling. I see photography, moving image, audio, and text as valuable communication tools for bringing relevant content to life.

NO GEORGIAN DREAM

A young generation between rising hope and feeling faint

Georgia is stuck somewhere between the worlds of Asia-Europe and Russia-EU. This separation is also becoming apparent in society. Although the majority of Georgians want to join the EU, the autocratic government is moving increasingly closer to Russia and destroying the chance of becoming part of the European Union. The young generation cannot identify with the conservative values the country has been stuck in since the USSR. Especially for the LGBTQIA+ community, artists, activists and people who do not fit into the traditional system, a saving perspective for the future is getting destroyed. In order to draw attention to the problem, I traveled to this torn country, portrayed those affected and asked them about their thoughts for the future. This resulted in a photo book, as well as an interview and a dance video, which illustrate the reality of life and emotions more vividly.
