Bachelor Illustration

Hey, I’m Marie, an illustrator with a passion for experimental projects. Especially, I love to explore the borders between art and design. I hope that my work makes it easier for recipients to understand this fascination.

My project is about stereotyped thinking. Nobody admits it, everybody does it. But why? Are prejudices human, maybe even useful? How can we – if we cannot get rid of it – develop it further? I was lead by this question and I collected various preconceptions from different people. In my book, everybody judges and at the same is judged. If you aren’t conscious of your – often embarrassing – thoughts and always hide and suppress them, you’ll never see that they are common ‒ and no progress would be possible because of that. The point is: do we want to get intimidated by our own criticism or will we dare to handle it? If I had not realised this project, I would have never confronted myself with my own prejudices that much. I would have never faced myself with all my prejudices so extremely, not to mention the circumstance that I would have never written and illustrated a book about this topic.
