Bachelor Communication Design

Design for me is both a form of expression, but also a meaningful way of transmitting knowledge. I use design not only for myself, but also to convey thoughts and information from other people. I have always been strongly influenced and inspired by exhibitions and works of art, and this inspiration is reflected in my own design work.

Visions of change

Resistance to gentrification and displacement

My bachelor thesis describes an exhibition concept and serves as a style guide. It is intended to provide inspiration for an exhibition in the Produzentengalerie Hamburg and, anticipating a possible realization, to explain all the necessary components of such a realization in terms of content. Smaller and larger protests which made generations hold their breath, this is the reason why most citizens of Hamburg probably still know the catchword ‘Hafenstraße’. My exhibition concept therefore presents the history of this special place and its significance for the city of Hamburg and beyond. It shows pictures, documents and objects from the time of occupation and resistance. My concept has to communicate the content clearly and to reflect it correctly in terms of contemporary history. I have grown while presenting my concept, in a way that all aspects of my exhibition concept are understood, even without realizing  the exhibition in a museum.
